Job Summary:

The Quality Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of care within our PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) services. Reporting to the QI Manager, this position is responsible for conducting daily internal monitoring, managing and analyzing data, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives. The Quality Specialist serves as a key liaison between assigned locations and the Quality department, promoting a culture of excellence and compliance throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Auditing & Monitoring

  • Complete recurring audits as defined by the Quality Program.
  • Conduct daily internal monitoring and audits to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Audit documentation for accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Review participant records for completeness, consistency, and follow-thru on care plan directives.
  • Identify documentation discrepancies and provide timely feedback to Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) members for correction.

Data Management & Analysis

  • Assist with data management for quality improvement activities, including coordination of data collection, entry, analysis, and assessment.
  • Collect, track, and analyze real-time data for quality initiatives.
  • Gather and organize data for reporting and analysis.
  • Analyze trends and patterns in documentation to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collect, summarize, and analyze performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Monitor and investigate potential or identified quality of care incidents; collaborate with staff to determine impact and next steps.
  • Assist with internal audits, surveys, and regulatory reporting.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws, policies, and procedures related to PACE services.
  • Use sound judgment to identify deviations in standards of care delivery.

Staff Education & Collaboration

  • Promote quality-focused behaviors in staff through observation, feedback, and education.
  • Participate in IDT meetings to ensure compliance with quality elements.
  • Serve as a liaison between assigned locations and the Quality department.

Professional Development

  • Attend training sessions to stay current with regulations and best practices in quality assurance and PACE services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience in healthcare quality assurance, compliance, or data analysis.
  • Familiarity with PACE program regulations and standards (preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in data management and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, EMR systems).

Requirements:

  • Requires valid State driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of background check, physical, drug screening, TB Screening

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based with regular travel to assigned locations as needed.
  • Participation in IDT meetings and training sessions.
  • Occasional extended hours to meet audit or reporting deadlines.

Employment Requirements: Successful completion of Pennsylvania Criminal History Check, PA DHS Child Abuse Clearance, Office of Inspector General check, and FBI Fingerprinting for Child Protective Services Law (at employer’s expense). Successful completion of post-offer employment drug screening and physical (at employer’s expense). CPR and First Aid Certification, or willing to obtain at employer’s expense. Individuals must have one year of prior experience caring for the frail elderly or willing to complete Company paid training to meet this requirement.
