Job Summary: 

Under the supervision of the Center Manager, with support from the Director of Facilities, and Supply Chain Specialist the Utility Aide is responsible for ensuring the Center is adequately cleaned, sanitized, and stocked with appropriate cleaning products, typical hygienic supplies, and other specific supplies according to company policies and procedures. 

 

Schedule:  

Standard operating hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday-Friday. Please note work hours may fluctuate depending on business needs, flexibility is required. 

 

Hourly Wage:  

$14.25 /hr. to start - $15.25 /hr. after 90 Days 

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Clean and sanitize all assigned areas of the Center. 

  • Understand the company’s Infection Control policies and procedures. 

  • Handle and mix chemicals safely and properly. 

  • Store and rotate cleaning products per company policy. 

  • Lift 10-15 pound buckets of water from the floor to the sink. 

  • Collect and dispose of refuse in designated areas weighing 20-30 pounds. 

  • Prioritize work assignments to complete tasks promptly. 

  • Act as the contact point for all service companies/contractors and delivery drivers to ensure all products are delivered to the correct department and services are performed. 

  • Ability to always interact with program Participants professionally and courteously. 
  • Report any concerns or maintenance issues to the Center Manager for correction. 

  • Establish mobile company email. 

  • Participate in on-going Quality Initiative training as directed. 

  • Other duties as requested/assigned.  

 

 Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Must have access to reliable transportation and have a clean driving record. 

  • Must be able to deal tactfully and patiently with personnel, participants, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public. 

  • Communicates with the medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department Team Leaders.  

  • Ability to organize work and follow through on assigned tasks. 

  • Must have the cognitive ability to process and perform tasks for Participant safety. 

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. 

  • CPR and First Aid Certification. 

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

 

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. 

  • One year of experience working with the frail and elderly population or willing to participate in appropriate training as needed.   

 

Requirements: 

  • Successful completion of background check, physical, drug screening, TB Screening  

 

Physical Requirements:  

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, lift heavy objects; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk, see, hear, and smell.   

  • Requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination; requires the ability to use department equipment to communicate effectively; The employee is occasionally required to reach and stretch with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  

  • Must have the ability to work under moderate pressure to meet scheduled appointments or deadlines while dealing with frail, disabled, and/or confused participants/clients.  

  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
